Manabã Provincia Pionera Del Ecuador En Tenencia De Ganado, No Destaca En Produccion De Leche

Abstract

Un alto indice de la Población Económicamente Activa (PEA) de la provincia de Manabí se dedica al sector agropecuario, silvicultura, caza y pesca, actividades que se constituyen como de mayor importancia, seguido por el comercio; para los gobiernos el disponer de información confiable y oportuna constituye una herramienta fundamental para la planificación y generación de políticas de fomento, por lo que se efectúan estadísticas y censos que permitan conocer la estructura y potencial productivo de los diversos sectores. Se analizan los resultados de datos estadísticos presentados en la Encuesta de Superficie y Producción Agropecuaria (ESPAC) efectuada por el Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas y Censos (INEC) de los últimos cinco años publicados, en la que se presenta consecutivamente a Manabí como la mayor provincia con destacada superficie destinada a la labor agrícola y la pionera en el país en tenencia de ganado vacuno; sin embargo, por ser una provincia aún en desarrollo no se destaca en su producción agropecuaria.
