Abstract

O estudo analisa o discurso do geógrafo Milton Almeida dos Santos no livro intitulado Por uma outra globalização – do pensamento único à consciência universal, lançado no ano de 2000 e dirigido a todas as pessoas do mundo, conforme esclarece o autor. Com uma forte crítica à globalização contemporânea, o Orador procura convencer as pessoas da necessidade de uma outra globalização, que seja mais humana e solidária. Sob a óptica da Teoria Retórica do Discurso proposta por Ivo Dittrich em 2008, a dimensão argumentativa analisada é a racionalizadora por meio de argumentos técnicos, sensibilizadores e legitimadores.
