A ESPACIALIDADE E HISTORICIDADE DO ‘JARDIM’ A Usina Santana como eixo de mudanças espaciais no bairro Santana, Teresina-PI

Abstract

O artigo trata de um estudo sobre o bairro Santana, em Teresina-PI, cujo objetivo reside em analisar como se dá a relação entre a (re)organização espacial do bairro e a Usina Santana S/A, importante empreendimento açucareiro da cidade. A localização espacial desta empresa permitiu que se criasse uma relação peculiar entre os moradores, o bairro e a própria empresa. No decorrer da pesquisa, foram analisadas fontes escritas e orais, permitindo concluir que a Usina agiu direcionando a (re)organização espacial do bairro, alterando o modo como as pessoas se ligam ao espaço habitado.
