Abstract

En este artículo se propone un análisis de los desafíos, los límites y las posibilidades de los Consejos de Salud, como un espacio privilegiado de la participación social en el proyecto democrático brasileño, a partir de un estudio de caso del Consejo Municipal de Salud de la ciudad de Parintins (CMS/PIN), municipio del Estado de Amazonas. Los datos presentados fueron recogidos después de una guía metodológica de tipo cualitativo de la investigación, con el uso de las siguientes técnicas y instrumentos de investigación: investigación de campo, estudio de caso, análisis de documentos, observación sistemática y participante y entrevistas semiestructuradas. Sobre la base de los resultados del diagnóstico presentado el artículo sugiere la necesidad de un trabajo permanente de la educación popular que se puede preparar a hombres y mujeres para ejercer esta función fiscal importante del bien público y colaborador de las políticas de salud.
