Abstract

El presente trabajo se revisa las cinco generaciones de la evolución y desarrollo de la tecnología móvil a nivel mundial. 1G el origen de las telecomunicaciones analógicas, 2G la transición de analógica a digital y la introducción de los servicios SMS, que redefinió el enfoque de los servicios y negocios. 3G se da el acceso a internet, inicialmente con velocidades de conexión muy bajas y con mejoras aceptables con la generación intermedia 3.5G o HSPA. 4G con tecnología todo IP, se diseñó para la interconexión y prioridad del tráfico de datos, y es la generación que está en plena fase de implementación. Aunque 4G está en fase de implementación, la industria ya tiene su hoja de ruta para el desarrollo e implementación de 5G que permitirá interconectar millones de dispositivos lo que se denominará el internet de las cosas, esta generación está entrará en producción para el año 2020.
