Abstract

O texto discute teoricamente a intensificação do trabalho docente e a relação desta temática com a saúde do professor, apontando mudanças ocorridas nessas últimas décadas no contexto educacional brasileiro, sobretudo, na escola pública. A discussão mostra a instituição de um modelo de escola mais “burocrático†, com maior controle e divisão do trabalho, que traz condições precárias de trabalho, exclusão dos filhos das classes trabalhadoras e conteúdos e metodologias que não atendem as necessidades dos alunos. Essas transformações, resultado de políticas e reformas educacionais nos diferentes sistemas de ensino brasileiros, associadas à precária remuneração, acarretam profundas transformações no cotidiano do professor e em sua saúde, considerando que esta categoria profissional perde autonomia e está inserida numa nova concepção de gestão e organização escolar, baseada em cumprimento de metas.
