Abstract

Na atualidade muito se fala sobre o gerenciamento de processos, que é uma atividade com o objetivo de desenhar, executar, documentar, monitorar e controlar a melhoria dos processos com vistas a alcançar resultados pretendidos numa organização. Com o avanço dos estudos organizacionais, as instituições públicas passaram a analisar a maneira de gerir a máquina pública com vistas a um maior desempenho organizacional baseado em ferramentas modernas de gestão. Neste contexto, este trabalho tem como foco a compreensão do gerenciamento de processos nas instituições públicas brasileiras, através de casos concretos. Observa-se que o gerenciamento de processos é uma iniciativa complexa e que existem desafios e barreiras a serem vencidos. Os resultados deste trabalho contribuem para auxiliar a organizar iniciativas semelhantes em instituições públicas.
