Abstract

Na atualidade, a qualidade de vida na área urbana é uma característica da busca das políticas públicas nos setores de educação, saúde, mobilidade, segurança etc. Nesse sentido, para se medir a qualidade de vida nesta área são apresentados diversos índices que demonstram os aspectos dos modos de vida da população, sendo que neste manuscrito, buscou-se analisar os dados do Observatório das Metrópoles, no relatório nomeado de à ndice de Bem-estar Urbano (IBEU), que baseia-se nas territorialidades analisadas pelo Instituto de Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), no que se refere à identificação dos aglomerados subnormais do censo 2010, sendo que o foco principal do texto é na Região Metropolitana de Belém (RMB). Por meio da discussão deste índice e das representações cartográficas geradas, procura-se identificar e apresentar os principais indicadores do IBEU e como eles estão espacializados na RMB.
