Abstract

Este artigo busca compreender a relação entre as comemorações e a sua potencialidade para a construção da memória e da identidade de determinado grupo. Para estudar a maneira como ocorre, pesquisamos a Faculdade de Enfermagem da Universidade Federal de Pelotas – Rio Grande do Sul. Essa unidade, fundada em 1976, demonstra em sua história, manifesto o desejo de memória, razão fundante para a realização do estudo de caso com esse grupo. Pretendemos, então, contribuir para a discussão dos conceitos da memória e da identidade e suas formas de construção e fixação em ambientes coletivos.
