Abstract

O artigo se propõe a desenvolver reflexões interdisciplinares acerca da questão das “mulheres encarceradas†, que cada vez estão em numero mais expressivo na população carcerária, buscando demonstrar a situação das mulheres que cumprem penas e a discriminação de gênero. Busca-se demonstrar a dimensão jurídica de tratamentos da população carcerária feminina. A distinção da criminalidade feminina da masculina. A violação de direitos da pessoa humana no sistema prisional, especialmente em relação à violência de gênero.
