Abstract

This article analyzes the contributions of the Defense of Life and Human Rights Carmen Bascarán of Açailândia/MA (CDVDH/CB) for the promotion of human development of the enslaved workers, from the Capability Approach. Slave labor deprive an employee of access to education, health and income and depriving their freedom. Thus, the CDVDH / CB is a welcoming environment of these workers and aims to create opportunities redemption conditions of dignity and promote the integration of the individual to the labor market. The method used in the survey was based on a literature review, documentary and field for data analysis was used content analysis. The results indicate that people had accepted range of the five freedoms proposed by Sen (transparency guarantees, protective security, economic facilities, social opportunities and political liberties) and demonstrate satisfaction and security for their support.
