Abstract

O Concílio Vaticano II (1962-65) marcou uma nova etapa para a caminhada da Igreja. A partir daí, encontramos uma Igreja aberta aos questionamentos da história e aos sinais dos tempos. Desse modo, a Igreja saiu de si mesma, para encontrar uma identidade evangelizadora (Evangelii Nuntiandi, n. 14), e por isso, missionária (Ad gentes, n. 2), refletindo sua condição dentro da história e compartilhando seus anseios com uma humanidade chamada a estabelecer sua própria dignidade. Assim, o objeto de nosso estudo é a relação entre a evangelização, libertação e justiça social no limiar da Igreja Latino-americana, procurando apontar pistas e perspectivas para a problemática da evangelização libertadora no quadro atual.
