Abstract

La complejidad del sistema de transporte público urbano hace necesario enfocar la atención a la situación actual y proyección futura del servicio para definir estrategias que permitan agilizar la utilización del servicio optimizando el empleo de recursos para conservar la sustentabilidad del territorio. En el estudio se plantea un análisis de la incorporación de la tecnología como factor que posibilita el alcance de una planeación más completa al incorporar el elemento de una mayor integración de los componentes del sistema y también del monitoreo en tiempo real de la operación del mismo haciendo de esta manera más eficiente el desempeño que redunda al mismo tiempo, en la reducción de los niveles de congestionamiento y por ende de la contaminación ambiental, al disminuir la emisión de los gases de efecto invernadero. Esta sería la principal contribución de la mejora del diseño y operación de la cadena “TICs-gestión organizacional-mejora del sistema-menos congestionamiento-reducción de emisiones de GEI “.
