Abstract

La Demografía es la ciencia que estudia los movimientos poblacionales. Sus aportaciones son fundamentales para comprender las implicaciones socioculturales y económicas que generan los cambios en la población. A pesar de su juventud, la Demografía tiene ya un importante recorrido histórico que va desde los análisis de los primeros pobladores hasta los estudios más recientes, con atención ineludible a los movimientos migratorios y a los problemas derivados de las sociedades actuales.
