Alimentação Escolar E Renda: (In) Segurança Alimentar Na Periferia Da Cidade De Parintins-Am

Abstract

Na zona urbana a renda é o principal meio de acesso ao alimento. Entretanto, o acesso via alimentação escolar é gratuita e, no Brasil, constitui-se numa das maiores políticas públicas voltadas para a segurança alimentar de sua população. O IPEA sobre a atual distribuição da pobreza no Brasil mostra uma grande disparidade das regiões Norte (68%) e Nordeste (80%) em relação restante do país. Procurando compreender a relação da alimentação oferecida numa escola da periférica da cidade de Parintins com a segurança alimentar das famílias é que se propôs este artigo. A amostra foi composta por 157 alunos do ensino fundamental com idades entre 10 e 15 anos da escola Irmã Cristine. Os resultados destacam que 62% dos alunos têm a alimentação escolar como substituta de uma das refeições principais em seus domicílios, índice é maior que os dados do Programa Fome Zero para a região Norte (56%). Portanto, a alimentação escolar não depende da renda e auxilia na segurança alimentar.
