Abstract

El siguiente ensayo muestra la gran participación social y económica que tuvieron las mujeres españolas en la empresa de la conquista y la formación de la capital de la Nueva España durante el siglo XVI. Desmitificando al mismo tiempo esa parte de la historia oficial en donde se afirmaba que la conformación de la sociedad mexicana fue realizada única y exclusivamente por la vía migratoria masculina. También a lo largo de esta presentación se mostraran las regiones españolas más proclives para la migración femenina; sus miedos y expectativas, así como sus desempeños una vez que arribaron a la capital del virreinato durante los años de 1521 al 1600.
