Abstract

En la actualidad, los medios masivos de comunicación han enfatizado en muchos países sobre la necesidad de mejorar las condiciones de seguridad de las poblaciones. Ambas definiciones seguridad y población tienen, no obstante, raíces comunes ignoradas por las audiencias modernas. Vislumbrar ese pasaje de la sociedad medieval a la moderna, será entonces, el objetivo central de Mitología de la Seguridad, un libro que en forma general establece un debate conceptual nacido de los textos de Michel Foucault y Giovanni Botero.
