Abstract

Esse artigo pretende observar questões da memória coletiva no contexto de cibercultura. Para esse fim, foi realizada uma busca sobre comunidades virtuais formadas para a proteção do patrimônio histórico, artístico e arqueológico existentes no Brasil. Dentre esses grupos, foi escolhida uma comunidade formada para a proteção do patrimônio histórico da região de Missões Jesuíticas na América do Sul - o grupo da rede social Facebook Defenda Santo Ângelo! Quero nossa história viva! Nesse grupo, seus membros discutem e denunciam a preservação do patrimônio cultural da cidade. O estudo observou como a memória coletiva se instaurou e como o patrimônio cultural é reconhecido e protegido na comunidade virtual, tendo em mente o que é proposto por Rosnay (2006).
