Abstract

Esse artigo apresenta uma breve revisão teórica a respeito da problemática preservação cultural, aspectos reflexivos acerca da evolução da doutrina do restauro e sobre a realidade das práticas brasileiras de restauração. O objetivo é destacar a importância de uma produção científica direcionada ao campo prático da restauração brasileira, para que se possa atender às demandas de restauro de acordo com o princípio de sustentabilidade das intervenções reafirmado pela Teoria Contemporânea da Restauração.
