Abstract

En el devenir histórico, la prensa periódica ha desempeñado un papel activo y ha sido arma eficaz para divulgar las ideas de los grandes escritores, estadistas, filósofos y científicos; el sentimiento nacional encontró su vehículo idóneo en la literatura, expresado a través de este medio y que reflejaba los problemas que acechaban a la sociedad que les vio nacer. A causa de la opresión del régimen colonial que promovió el descontento y la angustia de un grupo de hombres que representaban a la intelectualidad del país, salieron de ese crisol los primeros materiales impresos de la época.
