De Las Competencias A Las Competencias Informacionales. Reflexiones Sobre La Formación Por Competencias En El Ámbito Académico

Abstract

Este trabajo tiene como objetivo presentar un estudio sobre las competencias desde su aparición en la literatura y la conceptuación que implica, hasta llegar a las competencias informacionales y su necesidad en las universidades. Para esbozar los supuestos teóricos se consideró el método del análisis documental, enfatizándose en el vocablo competencias como muy polémico en dependencia del enfoque que se adopte: conductista, funcionalista o constructivista. Asimismo, se muestra una panorámica, a nivel internacional, del tratamiento del tema por diferentes organizaciones e instituciones, enfatizándose en la alfabetización informacional (ALFIN) como proceso conducente a las competencias informacionales. Se diserta sobre las competencias informacionales que debe poseer el profesional de la información para cumplir su cometido social de alfabetizar en el uso de la información, arribándose a conclusiones.
