El Caciquismo Político (1899-1920): Una Mirada Desde La Historiografía Cubana

Abstract

El presente trabajo aborda el tema del caudillismo –que en Cuba pasa a llamarse caciquismo durante la etapa republicana— desde una perspectiva historiográfica en el país. A través de tres textos se analiza la existencia de ese cacique político y su protagonismo en las esferas políticas, económicas y sociales de la etapa. Se muestra como algunos autores han visto que el proceso interviene en la formación de la burguesía en el país. Se tomaron tres obras por la escasez de textos que aborden el tema y por ser los principales que la han tratado, así por el objetivo de ver una evolución en la interpretación del fenómeno.
