Abstract

La música como elemento condicionante para el desarrollo cultural del país, ha pasado por un proceso de institucionalización que permite su desarrollo en vías de alcanzar mayores logros en la esfera social y cultural de la nación. Tal es el caso del Centro Provincial de la Música en Las Tunas, órgano rector del sistema de la música del territorio. Por su importancia y significación se realizó esta investigación bajo el tema: El Centro Provincial de la Música Barbarito Diez y su influencia en el desarrollo de la cultura en el municipio Tunas en el período 1989- 2009, con el objetivo de valorar el trabajo cultural que realiza y los principales aportes al desarrollo de la cultura tunera. Los resultados de la investigación permitieron revelar los aportes de la institución y su contribución al fortalecimiento de identidad nacional a través del reconocimiento social de la música tunera.
