El Movimiento Romántico En Inglaterra Y España

Abstract

El movimiento romántico aparece de manera rompedora en Europa, en Alemania concretamente, pero pronto se expandirá por el resto de Europa. Dicho movimiento se cristaliza en ideas brillantes muy características del siglo dieciocho. Aunque muchos autores han expuesto lo que ellos llaman romanticismo y las características del siglo dieciocho, fue, por un lado y en lo que corresponde a Inglaterra, en 1798(fecha de la publicación de Lyrical Ballads ) cuando el Romanticismo llegó a ser una importante influencia en los escritores ingleses. Por otro lado, en España, al primera cuestión que se nos plantea al tratar el romanticismo en nuestro país es si puede hablarse verdaderamente de un movimiento romántico español. Lo que sí es cierto es que hay un predominio de la perspectiva ilustrada hasta finales de 1840, como es el hecho de que tan tardíamente se publiquen las Obras completas de Jovellanos. Además, en España, por la cercanía y por la formación afrancesada napoleónica, nos sentimos más cercanos a las tesis clásicas que a las románticas.
