Abstract

El consumo de tabaco y alcohol es un problema de salud pública de gran impacto, debido a los múltiples efectos y daños que genera en la salud física y mental de los individuos, y se asocia a fenómenos sociales de prevalencia creciente, como la inseguridad, la violencia y la desintegración familiar a nivel mundial. Este fenómeno es altamente complejo, multicausal, que no reconoce límites territoriales, sociales, ni tampoco de edad (Herrera, Wagner, Velasco Borges & Lazcano, 2004).
