José Martí Y La Educación Del Ciudadano Para El Ejercicio Responsable De Sus Derechos En La República

Abstract

En el trabajo se analiza la formación del ciudadano a partir de las pautas que legó con su pensamiento José Martí Pérez, Héroe Nacional cubano. Al hacerlo, articulamos nuestras reflexiones en torno a tres interrogantes: “¿En qué educar?”, “¿Cómo educar?” y “¿Para qué educar?”. Respondiendo a la primera, esbozamos lo que consideramos para Martí debió ser el contenido de la educación; en respuesta a la segunda inferimos de su pensamiento seis principios de valor metodológico, útiles para orientar la educación de la ciudadanía; y, por último, como solución a la tercera cuestión, adelantamos algunas reflexiones martianas en torno al tipo de ciudadano que se debe formar en la república y a la importancia que concedió a los derechos individuales y sus deberes correlativos en el éxito de esta tarea.
