Dos Diferentes Perspectivas Sobre La Paz: Gandhi Y Águila Blanca

Abstract

El presente artículo pretende servir como material de apoyo para la difusión de la Cultura de Paz, en especial en el marco de los proyectos educativos Escuela Espacio de Paz. Para ello se exponen dos visiones acerca de la Paz bien diferentes. El Día Escolar de la Paz y No Violencia se celebra en todos los centros educativos el 30 de enero por ser la efemérides del asesinato de Gandhi. En consecuencia, sus pensamientos e ideas están bastante extendidos y son bien conocidos. Sin embargo, responden a lo que se conoce como Paz negativa, o mera ausencia de violencia, y hunden sus raíces en el Jainismo, religión fundada por Mahavira en la India en el siglo VI a. C. Se basan en el principio denominado en sánscrito, el lenguaje sacro de la India, como “ahimsa”, traducido como No Violencia y difundido en occidente por el literato ruso León Tolstoi.
