Questão Social: Um Conceito Revisitado

Abstract

A questão social foi constituída em torno das transformações econômicas, políticas e sociais ocorridas na Europa do Século XIX. Entretanto as transformações societárias que vêm ocorrendo nas economias capitalistas desde a década de 1970 têm alterado o tratamento teórico da questão. Este artigo apresenta as visões de três autores, ligados a diferentes disciplinas da área social, com visões distintas da questão social. São abordados os trabalhos de Robert Castel, que defende que a questão social sofre modificações ao longo do tempo, mantendo-se em essência a mesma; Pierre Rosanvallon, que afirma que a questão social se modificou e exige uma nova postura política na sua solução; e finalmente, são apresentadas algumas idéias do economista Amartya Sen, que faz uma análise do desenvolvimento econômico tratando sempre da questão social sem, no entanto, nomeá-la diretamente.
