Abstract

Se denomina ciudadanía a la relación de carácter político que existe entre una persona y el Estado, y que le otorga a esa persona derechos y deberes de carácter especialmente políticos, como por ejemplo el derecho a elegir, ser elegidos y ocupar cargos públicos. Es un vínculo jurídico político que une al individuo con el Estado y lo habilita a participar en su vida política, otorgándoles derechos e imponiéndoles obligaciones.
