Abstract

La práctica del aborto es tan antigua como la misma humanidad, se reconoce en nuestros días que los pueblos primitivos permitían el aborto, el cual era reconocido como un derecho absoluto del padre sobre los hijos. Las culturas griegas y romanas, también toleraban el aborto en ciertas circunstancias, a pesar de las penalidades severas que establecían las leyes de la época. Filósofos y médicos defendían o atacaban el aborto, ciñéndose a razones de moral, económico y político, esta tendencia se ha mantenido a lo largo de los siglos, estando vigente en la actualidad.
