Abstract

Los conceptos de modo y estilo de vida comienzan a ser objeto de las Ciencias Médicas en la segunda mitad del Siglo XX, a partir del redimensionamiento del concepto de salud y de sus determinantes. Estos conceptos, desarrollados anteriormente por otras ramas de las ciencias sociales, han contribuido a la mejor comprensión y operacionalización de los elementos no biológicos que intervienen en le proceso Salud – Enfermedad y son parte integrante de la medicina social, característica de nuestro siglo.
