Abstract

Las remesas han aumentado significativamente en los últimos años. Las remesas son un importante flujo de dinero para algunos países y uno de los ingresos más estables y menos volátiles según el FMI. Las remesas financieras son hoy en día uno de los recursos más importantes para muchos países en desarrollo. Las remesas registradas equivalen a más del doble de la Ayuda Oficial al Desarrollo (AOD) y a casi dos tercios de los flujos de inversión extranjera directa a los países en desarrollo. Las remesas constituyen un dinero privado y en ningún caso pueden sustituir a la financiación al desarrollo.
