Proceso de gestión de la educación ambiental comunitaria. Apuntes para un debate

Abstract

El control de los problemas ambientales impone nuevos retos en la gestión de la educación ambiental comunitaria, teniendo en cuenta que es un proceso sistémico, integrado y contextualizado, que transcurre a través de un ciclo educativo de etapas definidas desde el trabajo comunitario, a fin de gestionar de forma continua y permanente la adquisición de conocimientos, habilidades, comportamientos, actitudes y valores relacionados con el medio ambiente, caracterizada por la participación comunitaria en la autogestión. Representa la participación consciente de los pobladores que viven o trabajan dentro de la comunidad, su implicación, sensibilización y sentido de compromiso, considerándose parte significativa de un proceso que les genere autodesarrollo, descubrimiento de sus potencialidades para prevenir y/o mitigar los problemas ambientales existentes y lograr así mejorar su entorno. Es por ello que se hace necesario sistematizar los antecedentes más significativos que han caracterizado este proceso atendiendo al trabajo comunitario.
