Abstract

Es un sistema de comunicación inalámbrico al igual que el Wi-Fi pero usando como medio la luz visible en lugar de ondas electromagnéticas. Li-Fi hace referencia al término Light Fidelity en inglés, o lo que sería lo mismo en español Fidelidad de la Luz, es la comunicación mediante luz visible. Su finalidad es un mejor rendimiento de velocidad de transmisión de información de datos a través de varios haz de luz y tiene más seguridad que el WI-FI. La Red inalámbrica del Futuro LiFi, la luz pretende sustituir la tecnología WiFi como medio para conectarnos a Internet. El nombre de esta innovadora tecnología es LiFi, y promete globalizar el acceso a la red con sólo encender una bombilla.
