Abstract

La educación se ha convertido en la base fundamental para el desarrollo de las naciones, partiendo de ello se analizó el crecimiento económico del Ecuador, teniendo en cuenta la gran inversión en educación que ha sido realizada en los últimos años por el gobierno central, confirmando que se cumple con la hipótesis, de que, a mayor nivel educativo, los niveles de desempleo y desigualdad disminuirán. Es por ello que mediante este trabajo se examinará el impacto que genera la inclusión de la variable Gasto de Gobierno en la Educación, dentro del modelo de Mankiw, Romer y Weil más conocido como MRW en el Ecuador tomando así 45 datos del período 1970 – 2014 modelados econométricamente mediante el Método de Mínimos Cuadrados Ordinarios. Cumpliendo con nuestro objetivo de contrastar si el gasto en educación (inversión en capital humano), ha provocado incrementos en el PIB per cápita, para finalmente conocer la influencia de las variables en los retornos de la educación.
