Aproximación a la historia de la enseñanza de las lenguas extranjeras en la educación secundaria española (1812-1936)

Abstract

Este artículo analiza la situación de la enseñanza de las lenguas extranjeras en España a lo largo del siglo XIX y del primer tercio del XX, a través de las diversas normas legales que se fueron promulgando durante ese largo periodo de tiempo. De esta forma podremos comprobar la forma en que su enseñanza fue evolucionando, partiendo siempre de la preeminencia de la lengua francesa frente a la inglesa y la alemana, las otras dos más importantes. Por último, y ya durante los últimos años de la Dictadura de Primo de Rivera y durante la Segunda República, reproduciremos un interesante —y desconocido— artículo que describe una experiencia singular llevada a cabo en un colegio madrileño (enseñanza plurilingüe)
