Abstract

El trabajo que se presenta responde a una de las necesidades urgentes que tienen las Universidades de Ciencias Pedagógicas en los momentos actuales: la de formar un profesional competente para poder incorporar las exigencias que la Sociedad de la Información y la Comunicación a los sistemas educativos. En este se define la competencia mediática del profesional de la educación y se dan a conocer desde el punto de vista de la integración de los conocimientos, habilidades y capacidades cuales son las dimensiones que la componen, además de señalar las características que debe tener un profesional para ser competente en el uso de los medios de enseñanza y las nuevas tecnologías.
