Abstract

Los siete pecados capitales humanos, enumerados por Ghandi: política sin principios, riqueza sin trabajo, comercio sin moral, ciencia sin humanidad, placer sin conciencia, conocimiento sin carácter y religión sin sacrificio. Esta podría ser una guía en la búsqueda de la verdad. Recuerdo al estadista argentino Domingo Faustino Sarmiento y su frase “educar al soberano”, y procuró crear en un país todavía en formación, una escuela de excelencia, igualitaria, gratuita, y obligatoria, sin que pertenezca a un credo. Para hacerla igualitaria, la escuela obligaba al uso de un delantal blanco y a tener como única condición para pertenecer, el afán de aprender. Y en medio de los problemas de un país a medio construir, lo consiguió. Fue Influenciado por el educador norteamericano Horace Mann, reformador de la educación de EEUU.
