La lengua de signos en la atención al alumnado con deficiencia auditiva

Abstract

Hasta hace no muchos años, los modelos propuestos desde la medicina y la física acústica, han sido los predominantes en la educación de los niños con alteraciones auditivas. Estos modelos han puesto el énfasis en el déficit auditivo sino en el hándicap que de él se deriva. Actualmente desde una perspectiva educativa estos aspectos no se abandonan, pero se ha pasado de una concepción en la que la problemática se situaba en el propio niño a una concepción más interactiva, en la que tan importante es el posible “déficit” del alumno como el ajuste a la “respuesta” que el ambiente da a ese déficit.
