Abstract

La presente investigación trata sobre la valoración y conservación de la arquitectura patrimonial religiosa de las capillas de la provincia del Azuay (Ecuador) presente en las comunidades de Quingeo y Santa Ana. Este tipo de arquitectura vernácula reúnen los saberes populares a través de sus técnicas y materiales tradicionales de construcción, además de valores históricos, estéticos e intangibles. Las manifestaciones religiosas que se desarrollan en las capillas y en su contexto, son consideradas como un elemento esencial para su conservación.
