Abstract

Frente a los diversos y variados estudios de las colecciones públicas museales e institucionales, menor es el número de investigaciones consagradas al coleccionismo privado. El interés y alcance patrimonial de estos conjuntos no siempre es fácil de evaluar por parte de los historiadores, debido al deseo de anonimato de los coleccionistas. Este texto profundiza el análisis de la Colección Familia Mena que, con motivo del catálogo de las obras que integran este fondo, ha sido llevado a cabo en 2015. Se entrevé como una oportunidad ineludible para la contextualización, comentario y evaluación en cuanto a la calidad y singularidad de las obras, autores y corrientes artísticas de este legado patrimonial tan interesante.
