Abstract

El artículo es un recuento sobre la consideración de la construcción como un producto sostenible, revisando las etapas por las que el proyecto atraviesa hasta su construcción y uso, considerando su impacto con el contexto inmediato y su preocupación por un ambiente interno saludable. Se revisa al material que conforma una construcción y se muestra el proceso que debe cumplir para su evaluación como el análisis del ciclo de vida, las eco-etiquetas, además del cumplimiento o consideración de las normas ISO 14040, 14001, 14024, 14025, 14025. Se realiza un recuento de los sistemas de evaluación medio ambiental “Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM), Verde España, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) y Comprehensive Assessment System for Building Environmental Efficiency (CASBEE). y su interés por la evaluación del material como elemento a ser analizado, mostrando su importancia al momento del pedido, transporte y llegada a la construcción, así como el tratamiento de sus residuos y cómo estos son manejados.
