Modernidad/Posmodernidad: Dos Casos Museã Sticos

Abstract

Este trabajo tiene por objetivo describir y analizar el Museum of Modern Art y el Musèe d’Orsay a partir de tres aspectos: su arquitectura, su diseño curatorial y su funcionamiento como institución artística. Se tomarán en cuenta sus características y las maneras en las cuales estos pueden resultar representativos de dos estilos: el moderno y el posmoderno. En este sentido, se propone al MoMA como ejemplo de un espacio y modo curatorial modernos, y a d’Orsay como posmodernos, y se compararán para entender las características diferenciales de cada uno y de qué modo se ilustran las posturas formuladas. Además se discutirá el alcance real de estas definiciones epocales.
