El arte del ritual y la ritualidad del arte. Estética y poder en la religión afrobrasileña del Candomblé

Abstract

En los ritos del Candomblé, la producción de imágenes y la construcción de significado (re)piensan el sistema religioso en su práctica cultural. De este modo, el conocimiento se vuelve más abierto a las cuestiones de la percepción sensible, las maneras de ver y sentir. Aquí, la estética de las imágenes producidas conforman una expresión velada de la palabra que permite transmitir creencias de difícil o peligrosa verbalización y convertirse en una fuerza de comunicación creativa que las palabras no pueden alcanzar. A través de la belleza, la fuerza y el conocimiento se unen a la fantasía, la creatividad y la exuberancia para alcanzar el poder. En los rituales del Candomblé no hay poder si no hay belleza.
