Abstract

El turismo se configura como una de las mayores industrias económicas a nivel mundial. Así, en República Dominicana se presenta como uno de los principales sectores, destacando el turismo de sol y playa. En este sentido, República Dominicana cuenta con gran potencial para desarrollar otras tipologías turísticas complementarias al turismo de sol y playa. Una de ellas puede ser el turismo cultural. El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar las tipologías de museos que existen en Santo Domingo, y desarrollar propuestas para mejorar la promoción y comercialización (marketing) del turismo cultural en el país.
