¿Hay un arte islámico?. Una posible pregunta sobre el estatuto del arte islámico desde una perspectiva occidental

Abstract

¿La pregunta por el estatuto –onto-epistemológico- del arte es plausible aplicarla a cualquier contexto y dominio cultural? Algunos autores afirman que sí, sin remordimiento alguno, frente a esta posición en este artículo: [1] se hace una sumarísima descripción bibliográfica de los debates acerca de esta problemática, [2] se plantea el problema del estatuto del arte, dentro del marco sostenido por Belting y Lessing, y [3] en correspondencia con lo anterior, se indica sumariamente las dificultades y consideraciones a tomar en cuenta cuando este planteamiento se intenta aplicar licenciosamente a lo que consideramos no es "arte occidental", exempli gratia, el islámico.
