Un paradigma dentro del Coleccionismo Argentino: el caso del Museo de Arte de La Boca "Benito Quinquela Martín"

Abstract

Se propone analizar cómo se constituyó la colección de arte del Museo de Bellas Artes de la Boca de Artistas Argentinos "Benito Quinquela Martín", revalorizando la labor que asume dicho pintor en la constitución del museo. Se hará hincapié en la diferencia entre el patriotismo de las primeras colecciones de arte privadas (que luego devienen públicas), para las cuales el modelo a seguir era el europeo y el estadounidense, y el “deber patriótico” que emprende Quinquela al formar una colección de obras de artistas argentinos y latinoamericanos con el objetivo de constituirse en patrimonio público. En definitiva se explicará por qué consideramos a esta colección de arte moderno como paradigmática.
