Arte, Remate y Mercancía, una Aproximación al Coleccionismo de Dibujos

Abstract

La pregunta central de este artículo gira en torno a las motivaciones iniciales del coleccionismo de historietas. ¿Cómo surgió el hábito que da origen a un “mercado del arte” que funciona en paralelo a la industria editorial? En la Argentina, en una coyuntura histórica determinada los originales de historieta formaron parte de una actividad cultural y de una práctica de distinción social. Me interesa reconstruir ese proceso ya que excede el mero placer individual del adquirir. En el “tráfico” del coleccionismo de originales de historietas se puede advertir ideas y representaciones en torno al arte, al gusto y la búsqueda de legitimación. Como veremos, si bien el coleccionismo surge en el marco de ampliación del mercado artístico su práctica va más allá del deseo de ostentación.
