De Emergentes a Sumergidos. Nuevos Artistas y Mercado del Arte

Abstract

Desde mi experiencia personal como artista “emergente” -productora de arte contemporáneo de incipiente proyección, quizá significante de cierta calidad, pero no suficiente como para hacer del arte mi profesión-, reflexiono sobre la relación entre el mercado del arte y el artista principiante: sus condicionamientos, oportunidades, restricciones, consideraciones a tener en cuenta... en definitiva, las reglas del juego que cualquier aspirante a artista debe asumir y afrontar si está dispuesto a aceptar su posición en la cadena de producción de la cultura. Al contrario que otras profesiones creativas reconocidas como tales, ser artista requiere aceptar una precarización laboral voluntaria, con los riesgos que ello conlleva. Dilucidar los mecanismos del mercado del arte, será pues vital.
