Abstract

This paper aims to explore the different strategies used to re-vindicate the role of the Republican mother in the transmission of the Republican legacy. The study will focus on testimonial discourses of difference/dissidence in order to illustrate how the private sphere, domesticity, motherhood, all values promoted by the Francoist regime, are subverted in order to transcend private boundaries and become essential in the perpetuation of the Republican legacy and the permanence of Republican memory.
